Job Overview
The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will play a pivotal role in assessing creditworthiness, monitoring portfolio performance, and developing risk mitigation strategies for Standard Chartered Bank’s lending activities in Liberia. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough credit analyses of loan applications, including financial statement review, cash flow modeling, and industry assessment.
- Prepare detailed credit memorandums and present findings to credit committees for approval.
- Monitor existing loan portfolios, identify early warning signals, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain credit risk rating models tailored to the Liberian market.
- Collaborate with relationship managers to structure appropriate loan terms and covenants.
- Ensure compliance with Basel III, local regulatory guidelines, and internal risk policies.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior analysts on credit assessment techniques.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting to stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of banking products, credit risk frameworks, and regulatory environments.

Education
Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or equivalent are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
A minimum of five years of experience in credit risk analysis within a reputable banking institution is required. Experience in emerging markets, particularly in West Africa, will be valued, as will prior exposure to SME and corporate credit underwriting.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 30,000 to SSP 45,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, performance-based bonuses and other incentives are offered to recognize outstanding contributions.
