Job Summary

Lonestar Cell MTN Liberia is seeking a highly experienced and strategic finance executive to join its leadership team as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The successful candidate will oversee all financial operations, risk management, budgeting, procurement oversight, statutory reporting, governance compliance, and long-term financial planning.

The CFO will provide financial leadership to the organization while supporting executive decision-making and ensuring sustainable business growth aligned with MTN Group standards.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and Executive Management
  • Develop long-term financial plans and business sustainability strategies
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes
  • Monitor company profitability, investments, and shareholder value creation

Financial Operations & Governance

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee external audits and statutory reporting obligations
  • Strengthen internal controls and financial governance systems

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Manage corporate financial risks and cash flow exposure
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, banking laws, and telecom regulations
  • Supervise foreign exchange exposure and treasury management
  • Protect company assets through effective financial controls

Procurement & Commercial Support

  • Direct procurement and supply chain financial oversight
  • Support commercial teams with financial analysis and strategic advice
  • Monitor CAPEX and OPEX expenditures
  • Ensure commercial agreements align with company financial objectives

Stakeholder & Banking Relationships

  • Maintain strong relationships with banks, regulators, vendors, and auditors
  • Engage with board committees and financial service providers
  • Support investor confidence through transparent financial management

Education Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
  • Chartered Accountant qualification with completed articles
  • MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is highly advantageous

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience
  • At least 3 years of experience within telecommunications or related industries
  • Previous experience working in multinational or global organizations preferred
