Job Overview

The Data Privacy Officer will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of data protection frameworks that align with international standards such as GDPR, as well as local regulations. Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance, the officer will collaborate with IT, legal, risk, and business units to ensure that personal and sensitive information is handled securely and responsibly. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and update the bank’s data privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) for new products, services, and technology projects.
  • Monitor compliance with local data protection laws and international regulations, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Lead incident response activities related to data breaches, including investigation, mitigation, and notification processes.
  • Provide training and awareness programs for employees on data privacy best practices.
  • Collaborate with the IT security team to implement technical safeguards such as encryption, access controls, and anonymization techniques.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection authorities and manage regulatory inquiries.
  • Maintain a comprehensive register of data processing activities and ensure lawful basis documentation.
  • Advise business units on privacy considerations during contract negotiations and third‑party vendor assessments.
  • Stay abreast of emerging privacy trends, legislative changes, and industry best practices to continuously improve the bank’s privacy posture.

Required Skills

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or Certified Information Privacy Professional are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.

Experience

Applicants must have at least five years of hands‑on experience in data privacy, information security, or regulatory compliance within the banking or financial services sector. Demonstrated experience in conducting privacy impact assessments, managing data breach investigations, and leading privacy training programs is essential.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 1,800,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
