Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Sustainable Tourism Development Coordinator to lead initiatives that align our operations with global sustainability standards. This role will shape Robertsport’s vision as a model for eco-conscious tourism in West Africa, ensuring environmental stewardship and community engagement remain central to our growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainable tourism strategies that minimize environmental impact.
- Collaborate with local communities to design cultural tourism programs and employment opportunities.
- Monitor and report on sustainability metrics, including carbon footprint reduction and waste management.
- Coordinate with conservation organizations to protect Robertsport’s coastal and marine ecosystems.
- Design training programs for staff on eco-friendly practices and customer service excellence.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in sustainable tourism project management.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and international sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, Green Key).
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools for tracking sustainability performance.
- Creative problem-solving to balance tourism growth with conservation goals.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, Environmental Studies, or related field.
- Advanced degree or certifications in sustainability (e.g., LEED AP) preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years in tourism development, project management, or environmental conservation.
- Experience in Liberia or West Africa strongly preferred.
Salary
2,000,000 – 3,000,000 SSP annually, commensurate with experience.
