Job Overview

The Construction Safety Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety programs across all CRCC construction sites in Liberia. Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with local regulations, international safety standards, and company policies. Your expertise will help mitigate risks, reduce incidents, and foster a culture of safety excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain site‑specific safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements for all construction activities.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and toolbox talks to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Liberian occupational health and safety legislation, as well as international standards such as ISO 45001.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to integrate safety considerations into design and execution phases.
• Provide safety training and orientation for new hires, subcontractors, and site personnel.
• Investigate incidents, near‑misses, and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and reporting dashboards for senior management.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through continuous improvement initiatives and employee engagement.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Proven ability to conduct hazard analyses, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Safety, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or NEBOSH are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in construction safety engineering, preferably on large‑scale infrastructure projects in West Africa or similar environments.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 2,500,000 to 4,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be included.
