Job Overview

This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between renewable energy projects and local communities in Liberia. The Community Renewable Energy Outreach Specialist will lead efforts to educate, engage, and collaborate with residents to implement sustainable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct community outreach programs to educate residents on renewable energy technologies and benefits.
• Coordinate with local stakeholders to identify energy needs and co-develop tailored solutions.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions on solar, wind, and biomass energy systems.
• Monitor and report on the social impact of renewable energy projects in assigned regions.
• Collaborate with IRENA’s technical teams to ensure community feedback informs project design.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in community engagement, public relations, or project coordination.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems and their applications in rural settings.
• Proficiency in data collection and impact assessment methodologies.
• Ability to work independently in remote locations with limited supervision.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Community Development, Public Administration, or related discipline.
• Advanced degree or certifications in renewable energy or sustainability preferred.

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in community development, energy projects, or public outreach initiatives.
• Previous work in Liberia or West Africa is a significant advantage.

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
