Job Overview
The Senior Hydrological Modeling Specialist will play a critical role in our Yekepa operations, focusing on the complex water dynamics of the region. This role involves developing, implementing, and managing sophisticated mathematical models to predict water flow, groundwater recharge, and potential contamination risks. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex 3D hydrological models to simulate groundwater and surface water interactions.
- Analyze seasonal rainfall patterns and their impact on local water tables and industrial water supply.
- Conduct detailed site assessments to determine the feasibility of new water treatment facilities.
- Collaborate with geotechnical engineers to ensure water management systems align with soil and rock stability.
- Provide technical oversight for large-scale water diversion and filtration projects.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports for regulatory compliance and stakeholder review.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in hydrological modeling software such as MODFLOW, GSFLOW, or MIKE SHE.
- Expertise in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for spatial data analysis and mapping.
- Strong mathematical and statistical modeling capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of hydrogeology and fluid mechanics.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills for presenting complex data to non-technical stakeholders.
Education
A Master’s degree or PhD in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field is mandatory. Candidates with specialized certifications in water resource management will be given preference.
Experience
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in hydrological modeling, preferably within the industrial or large-scale infrastructure sector. Proven track record of managing complex water resource projects in tropical or sub-tropical environments is highly desirable.
Salary
