Job Overview
The Fashion Design and Production Coordinator will lead the development of seasonal collections, oversee production workflows, and ensure alignment with Cotton Tree Liberia’s creative vision. This role bridges traditional Liberian textile artistry with contemporary fashion trends, requiring strong organizational skills and a passion for cultural preservation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and prototype new fashion collections incorporating Liberian cultural motifs and materials
- Coordinate with local artisans and weaving cooperatives for custom textile production
- Manage production timelines, budgets, and quality control for apparel and accessory lines
- Source sustainable fabrics and materials from local and international suppliers
- Attend fashion events and trade shows to research market trends and competitor activity
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop product storytelling and brand narratives
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and CAD software
- Strong knowledge of textile production processes and garment construction
- Project management experience with cross-functional teams
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding of Liberian heritage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creativity and innovation in design concepts
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Arts, or related field. Advanced training in sustainable fashion practices is a plus.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in fashion design, textile production, or cultural heritage preservation. Experience working with artisan communities is highly desirable.
Salary
2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and portfolio strength.
