Job Overview
The Supply Chain Manager will lead the planning, execution, and optimization of all inbound and outbound logistics activities for Maersk Liberia. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring seamless cargo movement, inventory accuracy, and cost‑effective operations across the port and inland transport networks. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical abilities, capable of driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing cross‑functional teams, and fostering strong relationships with customers, carriers, and regulatory authorities. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies that align with corporate objectives and local market dynamics.
- Oversee end‑to‑end logistics operations, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, and last‑mile delivery.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, inventory turnover, and cost per container, and drive corrective actions when needed.
- Collaborate with sales, finance, and customer service teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and capacity planning.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements with shipping lines, trucking firms, and third‑party logistics providers.
- Lead a team of logistics coordinators, warehouse supervisors, and transport planners, providing coaching, performance reviews, and professional development.
- Implement digital tools and data analytics platforms to enhance visibility, traceability, and decision‑making across the supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, international trade laws, and Maersk’s safety and sustainability standards.
- Manage risk mitigation strategies, including contingency planning for disruptions such as port congestion, weather events, or geopolitical changes.
- Prepare regular reports for senior leadership, highlighting operational performance, cost savings, and strategic opportunities.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with proficiency in supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Maersk’s proprietary platforms).
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop diverse teams.
- In‑depth knowledge of customs procedures, import/export regulations, and maritime logistics.
- Effective communication skills in English; proficiency in French is an advantage.
- Project management expertise, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Education
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with professional certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, or PMP are highly regarded.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in supply chain or logistics management, preferably within a multinational environment. Experience in port operations, container handling, or maritime freight is a distinct advantage.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
