Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Logistics Procurement Officer to join our operations in Yekepa. This critical role is responsible for managing complex procurement cycles and ensuring the seamless flow of materials and equipment necessary for our large-scale mining operations. The successful candidate will oversee vendor relationships, negotiate high-value contracts, and optimize logistics routes to minimize downtime and maximize cost-efficiency. This position requires a deep understanding of international shipping regulations, inventory management, and strategic sourcing within the heavy industry sector. As we continue to expand our footprint, this role will play a pivotal part in our mission to achieve operational excellence and supply chain resilience in the West African region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end procurement process for mining equipment, spare parts, and consumables.
- Negotiate complex service level agreements (SLAs) and procurement contracts with international and local vendors.
- Coordinate with the logistics department to ensure timely delivery of critical materials to the Yekepa site.
- Monitor vendor performance against established KPIs to ensure quality and compliance.
- Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in compliance with international auditing standards.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing high-value contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of international maritime and land transport logistics.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in procurement or logistics, preferably within the mining, oil and gas, or heavy manufacturing industries. Proven experience in managing large-scale vendor networks is essential.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position is competitive and ranges from 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP, depending on experience and qualifications.
