Under a strategic partnership with UNICEF and other UN agencies, VOSIEDA is implementing the Empower and Nurture: Harnessing the Full Potential of Adolescent Girls in Liberia Project, aimed at improving adolescent nutrition, health protection, and life outcomes for vulnerable girls across selected counties.

Job Purpose:

The Nutrition Officer will strengthen county-level nutrition systems by supporting planning, coordination, data management, programme delivery, accountability, and quality monitoring of nutrition interventions targeting adolescent girls. The role will work closely with County Health Teams, schools, health facilities, communities, and implementing partners to ensure sustainable nutrition outcomes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will support programme planning, results-based monitoring, technical documentation, and operational implementation of the Nutrition Enhancement Project. Responsibilities include assisting the government in delivering iron and folic acid supplementation, deworming services, nutrition counselling, school nutrition education, food demonstration classes, and preventive health outreach programmes.

The officer will also conduct regular field visits, monitor programme performance, strengthen school health clubs and nutrition gardens, coordinate with technical working groups, ensure timely collection of high-quality nutrition data, prepare reports, and resolve implementation bottlenecks in collaboration with stakeholders.

Another key part of the role is building strong partnerships between line ministries, county health teams, and development partners to align nutrition interventions with government adolescent health priorities.

Qualification and Experience Required:

Applicants must hold a University Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, International Health, Health Sciences, Nutritional Epidemiology, Health Research, Policy, or related Nutrition discipline. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in nutrition programming, maternal and child health, adolescent health, or public health implementation is required.

Experience in NGO or donor-funded health project development will be highly advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate strong data management ability, reporting skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database systems.
