Job Overview

The Lead Data Privacy Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Mastercard’s data privacy strategy across all operations in Liberia. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data privacy program aligned with international and local regulations.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) for new products, services, and initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Liberian data protection authorities and manage regulatory inquiries.
  • Lead incident response and breach notification processes, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Provide privacy training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and partners.
  • Collaborate with legal, security, and product teams to embed privacy by design principles.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in privacy legislation, updating policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Prepare and present regular privacy compliance reports to senior leadership.

Required Skills

Education

A Master’s degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, or CIPM are highly desirable and demonstrate a commitment to privacy excellence.

Experience

Applicants must have at least eight years of progressive experience in data privacy, information security, or regulatory compliance, preferably within the financial services or technology sectors. Experience leading privacy programs in multinational organizations and interacting with data protection authorities is essential.
