Job Overview
The Global Freight Operations Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing freight movements across Maersk’s network, with a focus on the West African region. The analyst will work closely with regional sales teams, port authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless cargo flow, compliance with international regulations, and cost‑effective solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor real‑time shipment data and identify bottlenecks or delays in the supply chain.
- Analyze freight cost structures and recommend optimization strategies to improve profitability.
- Collaborate with port agents, customs officials, and trucking partners to ensure timely cargo clearance.
- Prepare detailed operational reports and dashboards for senior management.
- Support the implementation of Maersk’s digital tools, including the Remote Container Management system.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Assist in developing regional freight forecasts and capacity planning.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in Excel, SQL, or similar data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Knowledge of international shipping terminology, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
- Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with logistics software platforms such as Maersk Spot or similar.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related discipline is required. Relevant certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or equivalent are advantageous.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in freight operations, logistics coordination, or supply chain analysis, preferably within a multinational environment. Experience with African trade lanes is a plus.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 1,200,000 to 2,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
