Job Overview
The Chief Legal Counsel will serve as the primary legal strategist for the firm and its corporate clients. This role is critical in navigating the complex legal landscape of Liberia and the broader ECOWAS region. You will be responsible for overseeing all legal affairs, managing high-stakes litigation, and providing expert counsel on mergers, acquisitions, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice to the executive board and corporate clients regarding complex business transactions.
- Oversee the preparation and negotiation of high-value commercial contracts and international agreements.
- Lead the litigation department in representing the firm and clients in domestic and international courts.
- Ensure all corporate activities comply with Liberian laws and international regulatory standards.
- Manage and mentor a team of senior associates and legal researchers.
- Conduct comprehensive legal risk assessments for new business ventures and expansions.

Education
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Master of Laws (LLM) from a recognized international university. Professional certification as a Barrister or Advocate is mandatory.
Experience
A minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in a senior legal role, preferably within a large-scale law firm or a multinational corporate legal department. Extensive experience in West African legal jurisdictions is highly preferred.
Salary
The offered salary for this position is between 450,000 SSP and 750,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and proven track record.
