Job Overview
The User Experience Researcher will join Google’s Research & Development team in Gbarnga to lead qualitative and quantitative studies that inform product design for African markets. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute user research studies, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and field observations.
- Analyze research data to generate actionable insights that guide product strategy and design decisions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate findings into user personas, journey maps, and design recommendations.
- Advocate for user‑centered design principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Develop research protocols that respect local cultural norms and ethical standards.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Human‑Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in UX research are advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience
Candidates should have 3‑5 years of professional experience conducting user research for digital products, preferably in emerging markets. Experience with mobile‑first design, low‑bandwidth environments, and multilingual user groups is highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and expertise. Salary is paid monthly and includes performance‑based incentives.
