Job Overview

The Agricultural Technology Specialist will lead the implementation of precision agriculture tools, data analytics platforms, and equipment maintenance programs across the Harper region. Reporting to the Regional Technology Manager, you will work closely with farmers, agronomists, and sales teams to customize solutions that increase productivity and sustainability. Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and calibrate precision farming equipment, including GPS‑guided tractors, variable rate applicators, and sensor networks.
  • Conduct on‑site training sessions for farmers and agribusiness partners on the use of John Deere technology platforms.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret field data to provide actionable recommendations for yield optimization.
  • Collaborate with local agricultural extension services to integrate technology solutions into existing programs.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, best‑practice guides, and case studies for regional use.
  • Assist the sales team in identifying new business opportunities and preparing technical proposals.
  • Monitor equipment performance metrics and recommend improvements or upgrades.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of precision agriculture technologies and data analytics.
  • Proficiency with GIS, remote sensing, and farm management software.
  • Excellent communication and training abilities, with fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
  • Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work independently in field conditions.
  • Experience with equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Ability to travel frequently across the Harper district and surrounding areas.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in precision farming or data analytics are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years’ experience in agricultural technology implementation, farm equipment servicing, or agronomic consulting. Prior experience working in West Africa or similar emerging markets is highly valued.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based incentives and a comprehensive benefits package are included.
