Job Overview

This role involves maintaining and repairing heavy mining equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety. The ideal candidate will support Newmont Liberia’s mission to achieve zero harm in mining operations while contributing to regional infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on mining equipment (e.g., excavators, haul trucks).
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during equipment operations.
• Collaborate with mining teams to schedule equipment downtime for maintenance.
• Document maintenance activities and report equipment performance metrics.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems repair.
• Certification in mining equipment operation (preferred).
• Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex equipment failures.
• Knowledge of safety protocols in mining environments.
• Ability to work in remote locations with minimal supervision.

Education

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Additional certifications in mining equipment maintenance are advantageous.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in mining or heavy industrial sectors. Experience with Caterpillar or Komatsu equipment is a plus.

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,500,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
