Job Overview
This role supports Tetra Tech’s mission to enhance water security in rural Liberia. The specialist will design and implement water resource projects, conduct hydrological assessments, and collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure long-term sustainability. The position is based in Zwedru, a key region for water infrastructure development in the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field assessments of water sources, quality, and usage patterns
- Develop and manage water resource management plans aligned with national policies
- Coordinate with local communities, NGOs, and government agencies for project implementation
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders
li>Monitor and evaluate the impact of water infrastructure projects
Required Skills
- Expertise in hydrological modeling and GIS mapping
- Strong project management and cross-cultural communication skills
- Experience with water quality testing and data analysis
- Knowledge of Liberian environmental regulations and community engagement practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and water resource software (e.g., HEC-HMS)
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or related field. Advanced degrees (Master’s) in water resource management are a plus.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in water resource management, with a focus on fieldwork and project coordination. Prior experience in West Africa or Liberia is highly advantageous.
Salary
15,000 – 20,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
