Job Overview
This role focuses on designing, optimizing, and maintaining solar energy systems to support Liberia’s energy independence goals. Key Responsibilities
- Design and oversee the installation of photovoltaic systems for residential and commercial use
- Conduct feasibility studies for solar energy projects in underserved regions
- Monitor system performance and implement efficiency improvements
- Train local technicians in solar panel maintenance and safety protocols
- Collaborate with stakeholders to secure permits and funding for renewable initiatives
Required Skills
- Proficiency in solar system design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD)
- Strong analytical skills for energy output forecasting
- Knowledge of Liberian energy regulations and grid infrastructure
- Bilingual communication (English and French preferred)
- Problem-solving in remote field environments
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Certification in Renewable Energy Systems (RECS) is an advantage
Experience
- 3-5 years in solar energy project management
- Proven experience in sub-Saharan Africa energy markets
Salary
1,200,000 – 1,800,000 LRD annually, based on experience and project impact.
