Job Overview
The Senior Structural Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and supervision of major construction projects in Gbarnga and surrounding areas. Reporting to the Project Director, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with international standards, and deliver innovative solutions that meet client expectations and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and analysis for high‑rise and mixed‑use projects using BIM and advanced software tools.
- Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and calculation reports in compliance with Liberian building codes and international standards.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Perform site inspections, monitor construction progress, and resolve technical issues on‑site.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct technical reviews, and promote best practices in structural engineering.
- Prepare cost estimates, material take‑offs, and value‑engineering proposals to optimize project budgets.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro.
- Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel, and composite design principles.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for client presentations and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with local construction practices and regulatory frameworks in Liberia.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university is required. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in structural design and construction supervision, preferably on large‑scale commercial or residential projects. Experience working in West Africa or similar emerging markets is an advantage.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be included.
