Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Renewable Energy Systems Architect to lead the design and implementation of large-scale renewable energy projects in the Gbarpolu region. This role is critical to our mission of expanding clean energy access in West Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing complex microgrids, solar-wind hybrid systems, and advanced energy storage solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing national grids. This is a high-impact role that requires a deep understanding of electrical architecture, power electronics, and sustainable energy modeling. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design of large-scale renewable energy microgrids and hybrid power systems.
- Conduct complex power flow simulations and stability analyses for grid integration.
- Oversee the selection and specification of high-voltage equipment and energy storage technologies.
- Collaborate with local government agencies and international stakeholders to ensure project compliance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and field technicians.
- Manage the technical lifecycle of energy projects from initial feasibility studies to final commissioning.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in electrical modeling software such as ETAP, PSS/E, or DigSILENT.
- Expert knowledge of renewable energy technologies including PV, wind, and BESS.
- Strong project management capabilities and experience with large-scale infrastructure.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder management.
Education
A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. A PhD in a specialized field of energy research is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in power systems design, with at least 4 years specifically focused on renewable energy integration and grid architecture. Proven experience working in emerging markets or developing energy infrastructure is a significant advantage.
Salary
The annual salary for this position ranges from 450,000 SSP to 750,000 SSP, depending on experience, qualifications, and technical expertise. This package is competitive and reflects the seniority of the role.
