Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mining Equipment Mechanic to join our specialized maintenance team in Yekepa. This role is critical to ensuring the continuous operation of our heavy-duty mining fleet, including excavators, haul trucks, and dozers. Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostic tests on heavy mining machinery using electronic and mechanical testing equipment.
• Execute complex repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and power trains.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to extend equipment life cycles.
• Supervise junior technicians and provide technical guidance on complex repair tasks.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with strict international safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate digital logs of all repairs and maintenance performed on the fleet.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in diesel engine diagnostics and hydraulic system troubleshooting.
• Expertise in reading and interpreting complex technical schematics and blueprints.
• Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities for junior maintenance staff.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred. However, candidates with a high-level Technical Diploma and extensive field experience will be strongly considered. Specialized certifications in heavy equipment maintenance are highly desirable.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in heavy machinery maintenance, specifically within the mining or large-scale construction industry, is required. Proven experience working with Caterpillar or similar high-end industrial equipment is a significant advantage.

Salary

The offered salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s specific expertise and technical certifications. This package is competitive within the local market for specialized technical roles.
