Job Summary
CHI is seeking an experienced and community-focused Project Officer to support the implementation, coordination, monitoring, advocacy, and capacity strengthening activities under the CHI-WaterAid SWISH Project.
The successful candidate will work closely with district stakeholders, health workers, community leaders, and government institutions to improve maternal and child health services, WASH integration, gender equality, and community health governance.
This opportunity is highly suitable for candidates with experience in public health programming, community mobilization, health systems strengthening, gender-responsive development, and project implementation.
Key Job Responsibilities
Project Implementation & Coordination
- Support the day-to-day implementation of SWISH project activities in Todee and Careysburg Districts.
- Ensure project implementation aligns with approved work plans, budgets, and timelines.
- Coordinate with WaterAid Liberia, local government authorities, and health institutions.
- Contribute to monitoring, adaptive programming, and learning processes.
Leadership & Capacity Building
- Support training, mentorship, and supervision of health workers, community volunteers, and stakeholders.
- Build local capacity on WASH in health systems, gender equality, and inclusive service delivery.
- Promote leadership among women, adolescents, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Community Engagement & Mobilization
- Conduct community needs assessments to identify barriers to quality WASH services.
- Facilitate community sensitization campaigns on:
- Maternal and child health
- Hygiene and sanitation
- Gender equality
- Social inclusion
- Strengthen participation in rights-based health governance systems.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Networking

- Ensure adherence to donor regulations and CHI safeguarding standards.
- Promote Gender Equity, Diversity & Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles throughout project implementation.
Education Requirements
Applicants should possess:
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Health, or related field
Alternative Qualification
- Diploma in a health-related discipline with at least 5 years of practical project implementation experience in a similar setting.

- Community structures
