Job Overview
The Mining Operations Engineer will be at the forefront of daily mine activities, ensuring that extraction processes are efficient, safe, and environmentally compliant. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the engineer will coordinate with cross‑functional teams, implement best practices, and optimize production schedules to meet target outputs. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, monitor, and control daily mining operations to achieve production targets.
- Conduct regular safety audits and enforce compliance with local and international regulations.
- Analyze geological data and collaborate with geologists to optimize ore extraction.
- Implement cost‑reduction initiatives while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules for mining equipment and ensure minimal downtime.
- Prepare detailed operational reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Lead incident investigations and develop corrective action plans.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of underground and open‑pit mining methods.
- Proficiency in mining software such as Surpac, Vulcan, or MineSight.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication skills for multidisciplinary team coordination.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Advanced certifications in mine safety or project management are considered an asset.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in mining operations, preferably within iron ore or similar mineral projects. Experience with large‑scale equipment and familiarity with Liberian mining regulations will be advantageous.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 3,500,000 to SSP 5,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances are also part of the compensation package.
