Job Overview

The Mine Operations Safety Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe working environment across all mining activities at the Buchanan site. Reporting to the Mine Safety Manager, the coordinator will develop, implement and monitor safety policies, conduct risk assessments, and lead incident investigations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update site‑specific safety procedures and manuals.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections and hazard identification tours.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and emergency response drills.
• Investigate incidents, near‑misses and accidents, producing root‑cause analysis reports.
• Ensure compliance with Liberian mining legislation, OSHA standards and Rio Tinto’s Global Safety Policy.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to integrate safety controls into new projects.
• Maintain accurate safety records, statistics and reporting dashboards.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through training, mentorship and employee engagement.

Education

Salary
