Job Overview

The Industrial Maintenance Planner will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance schedules for Caterpillar’s heavy machinery production lines in Gbarpolu. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed preventive and predictive maintenance plans for all critical production equipment.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors to schedule maintenance activities that minimize impact on output.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, root causes of failures, and opportunities for reliability improvement.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of spare parts and consumables.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in Caterpillar’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and generate regular performance reports.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance).
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements during maintenance operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance technicians and junior planners.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data analysis tools and CMMS platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Solid understanding of heavy machinery components, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Project management experience, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing production priorities.
  • Commitment to safety culture and adherence to ISO 45001 standards.

Education

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, or equipment management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in heavy machinery or automotive sectors.
