Job Overview

The Network Optimization Engineer will join the Network Engineering department to design, analyze, and enhance MTN Liberia’s radio access network (RAN) performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive network audits, drive tests, and KPI analysis to identify performance gaps.
  • Develop and implement optimization plans for LTE and upcoming 5G deployments, focusing on coverage, capacity, and quality of service.
  • Collaborate with radio planning, RF, and core network teams to align optimization activities with strategic objectives.
  • Utilize network management tools and software (e.g., Atoll, TEMS, NetAct) to model scenarios and validate improvements.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor real‑time network performance, respond to alarms, and propose corrective actions.
  • Support field engineers during site upgrades, antenna adjustments, and equipment commissioning.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements affecting network optimization.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data interpretation and statistical methods.
  • Hands‑on experience with LTE/5G network optimization tools and drive‑test equipment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Radio Access Network Engineer (CRANE) or equivalent are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in mobile network optimization, preferably within a large‑scale operator environment. Experience with LTE and early‑stage 5G networks is essential.

Salary
