Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating, and managing the financial aspects of Shell’s renewable energy projects in Liberia. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will collaborate with engineering, legal, and commercial teams to develop robust financial models, conduct risk assessments, and secure funding from local and international investors. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for solar, wind, and hydro projects, incorporating capital expenditures, operating costs, revenue streams, and tax implications.
  • Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to assess project viability under varying market conditions, exchange rates, and policy environments.
  • Prepare comprehensive investment memoranda, pitch decks, and financial summaries for internal stakeholders and external financiers.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes, liaising with legal counsel, engineering consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with Liberian energy regulations.
  • Monitor project cash flows, covenant compliance, and financial performance against budgets, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Support the negotiation of financing terms with banks, development agencies, and private equity partners, ensuring optimal capital structures.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications and participation in public‑private partnership initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of global renewable energy financing trends, policy changes, and market developments to inform strategic decisions.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel or specialized software (e.g., @RISK, Crystal Ball).
  • Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in project finance documentation, term sheets, and loan agreements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Liberian regulatory framework for renewable energy projects is an advantage.

Education
