Job Overview
This role involves analyzing satellite and aerial imagery to support environmental conservation, land use planning, and disaster response efforts across Liberia. The position requires expertise in geospatial software and data interpretation to generate actionable insights for stakeholders in environmental management and policy-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct remote sensing analysis using satellite and drone imagery
- Develop geospatial models for environmental monitoring and impact assessment
- Collaborate with local authorities on land use planning and conservation projects
- Produce detailed reports and visualizations for policymakers and environmental agencies
- Maintain and update geospatial databases with accurate field data
Required Skills
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Experience with remote sensing platforms (Sentinel, Landsat)
- Strong analytical skills in environmental data interpretation
- Knowledge of Liberian environmental regulations and conservation priorities
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required
Experience
- 3-5 years in geospatial analysis or environmental monitoring
- Previous experience in African environmental projects is an asset
Salary
8,000,000 – 12,000,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
