Job Overview

The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end‑to‑end delivery of a major highway construction project in Gbarnga, ensuring compliance with international standards, local regulations, and CRCC’s quality and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of the highway construction project, adhering to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate with design engineers, procurement specialists, subcontractors, and local government agencies to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, and regularly update progress reports for senior management.
  • Implement rigorous quality assurance and control procedures, conducting site inspections and audits to maintain CRCC’s high standards.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, ensuring zero‑incident performance on site.
  • Manage project finances, including cost forecasting, cash flow analysis, and variance reporting.
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication, preparing presentations for community outreach and regulatory bodies.
  • Mentor and develop local engineering and construction staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership and decision‑making abilities with a proven track record of delivering large‑scale infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, civil engineering principles, and local building codes.
  • Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills in English; French or local languages are a plus.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Solid understanding of HSE regulations and best practices.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PE (Professional Engineer) are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in managing construction projects of at least $20 million USD value, preferably in road or highway construction. Experience working in West Africa or similar emerging markets is advantageous.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and expatriate allowances may be applicable.
