Job Overview
The Data Center Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day management of Microsoft’s new Harper data center, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of critical infrastructure. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, coordinating maintenance, capacity planning, and incident response. Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the data center, ensuring 99.9% uptime.
- Lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for power, cooling, and networking equipment.
- Monitor capacity utilization and plan for scalability to meet growing demand.
- Coordinate incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑incident reviews.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with Microsoft’s global security team to implement robust physical and cyber security measures.
- Prepare operational reports and present key metrics to senior leadership.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in monitoring tools (e.g., System Center Operations Manager, Azure Monitor).
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities under pressure.
- Effective leadership and team management experience.
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.
- Experience with budgeting, vendor management, and contract negotiations.

Education

Experience

Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and stock options may be offered to exceptional candidates.
