Job Overview
The Solar Energy Project Engineer will lead the technical planning and execution of solar power projects from feasibility studies through to commissioning. Reporting to the Regional Project Manager, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, local stakeholders, and international partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position plays a pivotal role in advancing Siemens Energy’s mission to provide reliable, affordable, and clean energy solutions in Liberia.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site assessments, resource analysis, and feasibility studies for solar projects across Liberia.
- Develop detailed engineering designs, including electrical schematics, layout plans, and system specifications.
- Coordinate procurement of solar modules, inverters, mounting structures, and balance‑of‑system components.
- Manage construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality control, and project schedules.
- Lead commissioning, performance testing, and handover processes to ensure operational readiness.
- Collaborate with local authorities, utilities, and community representatives to secure permits and address stakeholder concerns.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and progress updates for senior management and investors.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies and resolve technical issues promptly.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of photovoltaic (PV) system design, grid integration, and power electronics.
- Proficiency with design software such as PVSyst, AutoCAD, and PV*SOL.
- Excellent project management abilities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Effective communication skills for interfacing with engineers, contractors, and government officials.
- Problem‑solving mindset with the capacity to adapt to evolving project requirements.
- Familiarity with Liberian regulatory frameworks for renewable energy projects.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in solar design (e.g., NABCEP) or a Master’s degree are advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience
Applicants must have at least five years of hands‑on experience in solar power project engineering, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases. Experience working in West Africa or similar emerging markets is highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be added to reflect project milestones and individual contributions.
