Job Overview
The Senior Petroleum Exploration Geologist will play a critical role in our subsurface evaluation team. This position involves leading complex geological assessments, interpreting seismic data, and identifying high-potential drilling targets in offshore and onshore basins. You will be responsible for integrating multi-disciplinary data to build robust geological models that guide multi-million dollar investment decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead geological interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data to identify potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.

- Collaborate with geophysicists to optimize seismic acquisition and processing workflows.
- Perform detailed risk assessments for exploration prospects, including uncertainty quantification.
- Prepare and present technical reports and geological presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Supervise junior geologists and provide technical mentorship to ensure high-quality data interpretation.
- Integrate well log data, core data, and outcrop studies into comprehensive basin models.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in geological modeling software such as Petrel or DecisionSpace.
- Expertise in seismic interpretation and structural geological analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex datasets from multiple sources.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of petroleum systems modeling and play fairway analysis.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects in a high-pressure environment.
Education
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a closely related Earth Science discipline is required. A PhD is highly preferred for this senior-level position.
Experience
Candidates must possess at least 8 years of direct experience in petroleum exploration, specifically within offshore environments. A proven track record of successful prospect identification and involvement in drilling programs is essential. Experience working in West African basins is a significant advantage.
Salary
