Job Overview

This role involves coordinating media production activities for BBC Media Action’s Liberia initiatives. The ideal candidate will manage content creation workflows, collaborate with local journalists, and ensure the delivery of impactful media projects aligned with organizational goals. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Liberia’s media landscape while working with an international team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the production of multimedia content (video, audio, print) for local and international platforms.
  • Collaborate with local journalists, producers, and editors to develop story concepts and editorial calendars.
  • Ensure adherence to BBC Media Action’s editorial standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Manage production timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for media projects.
  • Provide technical guidance on media production tools and workflows.
  • Facilitate training sessions for local media teams on best practices in content creation.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in media production (video/audio editing, storytelling, or related fields).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Audition, etc.) or similar software.
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Knowledge of Liberian media landscape and local content preferences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in media management are a plus.

Experience

3–5 years of professional experience in media production, preferably in a developing country context. Experience working with international NGOs or media organizations is highly desirable.

Salary

1,500,000 – 2,000,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
